    OUR HISTORY

    QUALITY CHILDREN EDUCATION

Gioja Secondary School was inaugurated on September 19, 2016, with the support of Dr. Peter and Mrs. Rita Caluori from Switzerland, alongside the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ congregation. The school received official approval from the Ministry of Education to operate as a private institution on October 12, 2020. It was elevated to a Senior Secondary School on November 3, 2021.

On December 20, 2021, the Ministry approved the school to offer subjects for the Senior Secondary School Examination. Additionally, it became an examination center for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) on February 14, 2022, and for the National Examination Council (NECO) for both the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) and Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) on March 25, 2022.

The establishment of Gioja Secondary School addressed a significant educational gap in the Mgbele community and surrounding villages, which previously lacked adequate secondary education facilities. The school aims to provide quality education and has plans for future expansion to accommodate a larger student body.
